Our Story

How We Started

In 2009, access to dental care was identified as the most urgent social service need in Pinellas County, affecting thousands of individuals and families without access to essential oral health services.

Recognizing this critical need, The Salvation Army, Clearwater Free Clinic, and The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation came together in 2011 with a shared vision to create a place where affordable dental care could restore health, dignity, and hope.

That vision became reality in 2013 when the Community Dental Clinic opened its doors, made possible through the generosity of compassionate individuals, foundations, and organizations, and sustained by the extraordinary dedication of dental and non-dental volunteers committed to serving their community.

Who We Are

Our clinic is an independent nonprofit organization.

We offer urgent dental care and comprehensive dental services including exams/x-rays, cleanings, fillings, root canals, and extractions for adults in our community who do not have dental insurance or the financial resources to access the care they desperately need.

Without access to care, treatable dental issues can lead to serious overall health problems. Our goal is to improve the dental health and quality of life of our patients, reduce the number of missed work days, and preclude unnecessary ER visits.
